Sounds too fabulous to be true, right?  But crazy as it sounds, researchers at the University of Alberta in Canada found that reservatrol, a key ingredient in red wine, when tested in a lab, improved subjects’ physical performance, muscle strength and heart function as much as a session at the gym.  “We were excited when we saw that resveratrol showed results similar to what you would see from extensive endurance exercise training,” said researcher Jason Dyck in an article in Science News.  “We immediately saw the potential for this and thought that we identified ‘improved exercise performance in a pill.’ “ Featured photo credit: food & wine/anokarina via flickr.com
